ACME Solar Holdings Ltd. has emerged as the winning bidder for 130 MW in REMC Limited’s 1,000 MW Round-the-Clock (RTC) Renewable Energy tender, securing the project at a tariff of INR 4.35/unit. The Letter of Award is expected to be issued as per the tender timelines.
The power will be procured directly by Indian Railways, which needs a steady 24x7 supply to match its unique load profile. Under the model, Railways will sign direct PPAs with developers, underscoring the growing competitiveness of RTC renewable power delivered through a mix of solar, wind and energy storage.
As per tender conditions, ACME must supply firm renewable power from ISTS-connected projects, backed by dispatchable sources and/or Energy Storage Systems. The contract mandates 75 percent minimum annual availability for the first three years and 85 percent thereafter, requiring a strategic blend of solar, wind and battery assets.
ACME Solar plans to commission the project within 30 months of PPA signing, leveraging land and grid connectivity already available in its portfolio.
