ACME Solar Holdings has announced that the company, through its subsidiary, ACME Marigold Urja, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC for a 400 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project under NTPC's FDRE-01 tranche at a tariff of INR 4.37 per unit.
The tariff for this project has been adopted by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). It would be connected to the Raghanesda substation on the ISTS network, for which final grant of connectivity has already been secured, stated the company, further adding that ACME Solar has already secured a lease of more than 800 acres of land for this project and is on track for scheduled commissioning as per PPA timelines.
This FDRE project will integrate renewable energy generation with appropriate energy storage solutions to deliver reliable and dispatchable power throughout the day, while meeting the offtakers' power requirements during peak demand hours, the company said.
It would ensure a reliable supply of renewable power, with a minimum annual Capacity Utilisation Factor (CUF) of 40 percent and an obligation to meet 90 percent of the peak power requirement for a cumulative duration of 4.5 hours daily across the morning and evening peak hours.
Following this PPA, the under-construction PPA-locked contracted portfolio of ACME Solar has increased to 4,710 MW out of a total under-construction contracted capacity of 5,380 MW.
