ACME Solar Holdings said on Tuesday it has commissioned an additional 155 MW/470.25 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Rajasthan.

With the latest commissioning, the company’s total operational BESS capacity has reached 297.67 MW/951.74 MWh, part of a broader pipeline of 835 MW/3,114.64 MWh planned across its special purpose vehicles.

The newly commissioned projects are connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) and will operate on a merchant basis, allowing ACME Solar to generate additional revenue by leveraging price differences between peak and off-peak electricity demand.

The company said the storage systems will improve grid reliability by charging during periods of low demand and discharging power during peak hours, helping balance supply and demand while enhancing overall grid stability.

ACME Solar is an integrated renewable energy player with a diversified portfolio of over 8 GW spanning solar, wind, hybrid and storage solutions. It has nearly 3 GW of operational contracted capacity and more than 5 GW under construction, including battery storage deployments.
