The REconnect Annual Flagship Summit & Expo 2026 in New Delhi brought together policymakers, industry leaders and clean energy experts to discuss renewable energy, solar manufacturing, energy storage and sustainability.

Amid rising global energy security concerns triggered by geopolitical tensions such as the Iran-Israel conflict and disruptions in global supply chains, the push for renewable energy and energy independence has gained greater urgency worldwide.

Reflecting this growing emphasis on resilient and self-reliant energy systems, the two-day 3rd edition of the REconnect Annual Flagship Summit & Expo 2026 was held in New Delhi.

Organised by ‘Energetica India’ magazine under the theme ‘Redefining Energy Security: Building a New Energy World Through Renewables,’ the summit brought together policymakers, industry leaders, clean energy developers, manufacturers and investors to discuss the future of India’s renewable energy sector.

The event opened with welcome remarks from Hemant Arora, Director, Energetica India. Addressing policymakers, innovators and stakeholders from across the renewable energy value chain, he highlighted India’s rapidly evolving clean energy landscape and the increasing importance of energy security in today’s global environment. He stated that the summit theme, ‘Redefining Energy Security: Building a New Energy World Through Renewables,’ reflects the urgent need for sustainable, resilient and self-reliant energy systems. He also highlighted India’s progress in ethanol blending, green hydrogen, rooftop solar, domestic solar manufacturing under ALMM, energy storage and industrial decarbonisation as major pillars driving the country’s renewable energy transformation.

Chief Guest Shripad Yesso Naik, Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, highlighted the growing global focus on sustainability and energy security. He emphasised that reliable, affordable and clean energy has become a global priority, making renewable energy central to economic growth and energy independence. Naik stressed the importance of strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem to reduce import dependence, encourage innovation and create employment opportunities. He also underlined the growing significance of energy storage solutions in ensuring grid stability and reliable power supply as renewable energy penetration increases across the country. Praising Energetica India for creating a collaborative industry platform, he expressed confidence in India’s growing leadership in the global renewable energy sector.

Further, Guest of Honour, Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director (Power System), Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), addressed delegates on the evolving role of renewable energy in strengthening India’s power infrastructure and long-term energy security. He highlighted the need to maintain the right balance between efficiency, affordability and longevity in solar modules. Speaking at the summit, he said India’s renewable energy transition is being driven not only by the national target of 500 GW renewable energy capacity but also through a ‘silent revolution’ in distributed renewable energy under schemes such as PM Suryaghar and PM Kusum. He added that Maharashtra has emerged as a leading contributor in rooftop and standalone solar deployment across the country.

Following this, a presentation session was conducted by Icon Solar-En Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

The first panel discussion explored the topic ‘Energy Security in a Disrupted World: The New Energy Mix.’ The session was moderated by Praveen Gollah, Associate Director, Boston Consulting Group. The panel featured Piyush Choudhary, General Manager (Electrical), ONGC Green Ltd.; Sanjeev Sharma, VP (BD & Corporate Strategy), GH2 Solar; Jyoti Mukul, Chief – Energy, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII); Samit Mitra, Managing Director, Country Delivery, India, Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet; and Abhishek Ranjan, CEO and Senior Vice President, BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. The discussion focused on renewable integration, energy diversification, policy frameworks and strategies to strengthen India’s long-term energy security.

The second panel discussion centred on ‘Innovation in Solar Cells & Emerging Technologies.’ Moderated by Dr. Rahul Pandey, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Sciences (Physics), National Institute of Technology (NIT), Delhi, the session brought together leading experts from the solar manufacturing and technology segment. Speakers included Dr. Balachander Krishnan, COO, Indosol Solar; Samir Mehta, CEO, Zuvay Technologies Pvt. Ltd.; Sankar Ray, Vice President – Projects Manufacturing, GREW Solar; and Dibakar Ray, CEO, Aster e Technologies. The panel highlighted advancements in solar cell efficiency, next-generation manufacturing technologies and innovation-driven growth opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Following the panel discussion, a presentation was delivered by Aster e Technologies. Post-lunch, presentations were delivered by representatives from Stäubli Tech Systems India and Zuvay Technologies Pvt. Ltd.

Another major session discussed ‘Residential Solar: From Rooftops to Smart Energy Ecosystems.’ The panel was moderated by Harpreet Singh, Programme Lead, Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW). Speakers included Gaurav Upadhyay, Energy Finance Specialist, India Sustainable Finance, Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA); Akshat Jain, CEO, KLK Ventures Pvt. Ltd.; Arshi Chadha, Founder and CEO, Bridgeway Power; and Rajesh Kumar Jain, Director, HFM Solar. The discussion focused on rooftop solar adoption, financing models, decentralised power generation and smart energy management solutions for residential consumers.

The final panel discussion of Day 1 addressed ‘C&I Sector: Powering India’s Industrial Decarbonisation & Data Centres.’  Moderated by Sachin Singh, Associate Director, Electricity & Renewables Division, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the session featured Anurag Chivilkar, Director and VP , BD, Roofsol Energy; Anil Bhat, Director – BD, Hexa Climate; Karan Chadha, VP, BD C&I, Purvah Green Power (RPSG Group); and Ateesh Samant, COO, Oyster Renewable Energy. Panelists discussed industrial decarbonisation strategies, renewable energy procurement for commercial and industrial consumers, and the increasing role of green power in India’s expanding data centre ecosystem.

The first day concluded with networking sessions, stall visits and the REconnect Annual Awards 2026, which recognised leading companies and innovators from across India’s renewable energy and solar manufacturing ecosystem for their contributions to advancing clean energy technologies and sustainable energy solutions in India.

Among the key winners, Icon Solar-en Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd. received the ‘Iconic Leadership in Solar Manufacturing Award’ for strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and advancing clean energy technologies. Sungrow was honoured with the ‘Innovation Excellence in Solar Inverters & BESS’ award for its advancements in solar inverter and battery energy storage system technologies, while Novasys Greenergy Ltd. secured the ‘Top Customer Choice Solar Brand – West Region’ award for its expanding market presence and customer-focused solar solutions.

Zuvay Technologies was presented with the ‘Excellence in Turnkey Polysilicon To Module Solar Manufacturing Solutions’ award for delivering integrated manufacturing solutions across the solar value chain. Tata Power Renewable Energy received the ‘Rooftop Solar Provider of the Year’ award for its contribution to rooftop solar adoption and decentralised clean energy deployment across the country.

Stäubli was recognised with the ‘Most Bankable PV eBOS Component Award’ for its reliable photovoltaic electrical balance of system components used in solar projects, while Insolation Energy Ltd. won the ‘Quality Excellence in Solar Manufacturing’ award for maintaining high manufacturing standards and delivering quality-driven solar products.

Aster E Technologies received the ‘Excellence in Advanced Solar Manufacturing Solutions Award’ for its innovations and technological contributions to advanced solar manufacturing. AMPIN Energy Transition was honoured with the ‘Utility Scale Solar Project of the Year’ award for its achievements in developing large-scale renewable energy projects, while Solera secured the ‘High-Reliability Solar Junction Box Manufacturer Award’ for its dependable and high-performance solar junction box solutions.

Further, Gautam Solar was recognised with the ‘Distinguished Solar Manufacturing Enterprise Award’ for its contribution to India’s solar manufacturing sector and renewable energy growth. Pom Systems & Services Pvt. Ltd. received the ‘Future-Ready UPS Technology Award’ for its innovations in advanced UPS and power backup technologies, while Ciel & Terre was awarded the ‘Solar Breakthrough Innovation of the Year’ title for introducing innovative solar solutions supporting the clean energy transition.

The awards ceremony was attended by industry leaders, renewable energy developers, manufacturers and technology providers participating in the REconnect Annual Flagship Summit & Expo 2026.

The second day of the summit continued with discussions focused on renewable energy scalability, solar manufacturing and energy storage solutions. The day commenced with a welcome address by Hemant Arora, Director, Energetica India, followed by the summit inauguration and lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General, National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), attended the event as Guest of Honour and addressed participants on the importance of research, innovation and domestic capability building in the renewable energy sector.

A presentation session was conducted by Gautam Solar. The first panel discussion of Day 2 focused on ‘Utility-Scale Renewables: Scaling Capacity with Stability.’ The session was moderated by Ravi Verma, Member Governing Council, Sustainable Projects Developers Association (SPDA). Speakers included Sabyasachi Majumdar, Senior Director, CareEdge Ratings; Mahima Hargovind, Head – Energy Transition Strategy and New Platforms, Reliance Infrastructure; Saurabh Gupta, Head of Revenues, India and Southeast Asia, ENGIE India; Sandeep Kashyap, CEO, Purvah Green Power (RPSG Group) and President of SDPA,  Anish Pasrija, Head, BD, Regulatory Affairs & Corporate Business Alliances, Essar Renewables Ltd.; and Harendra Tomar, Leader, Business Development, Sungrow. The discussion examined challenges and opportunities associated with scaling renewable energy capacity while maintaining grid stability and project viability.

Another presentation session was delivered by Novasys Greenergy Ltd.

The second panel discussion, organised in partnership with Novasys Greenergy Ltd., explored the topic ‘Solar Manufacturing & Components: Building a Self-Reliant Ecosystem.’ The session was moderated by Er. Alekhya Datta, Director, Electricity & Renewables Division, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Panelists included Girishkumar Kadam, SVP & Group Head, ICRA Ltd.; Atul Saraswat, Sales Head, North India, Icon Solar-En Power Technologies Pvt. Ltd.; Kumar Utkarsh, Vice President, International Business, Cosmic PV Power Ltd.; Ashok Kumar Singh, Presiden, Solar Business, Novasys Greenergy Ltd.; Vineet Tyagi, Head Sales, North India, Rayzon Solar; and Sarjak Parekh, VP, Sales, Insolation Energy Ltd. The session highlighted India’s push towards self-reliance in solar manufacturing, supply chain localisation and technology development.

Following the networking lunch break, presentation sessions were held by POM Systems and Services Pvt. Ltd. and Indygreen Technologies.

The final panel discussion of the summit focused on ‘Energy Storage: Enabling Round-the-Clock Renewable Power.’ Moderated by Chetan Pathak, Director – Strategy & Growth, India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA), the session featured Vatsal Kundalia, Managing Director, Advait Greenergy Pvt. Ltd.; Anil Kumar Bohara, Head (System Operation, SCADA, DMS), BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd.; Rajrajeshwari Mishra, SVP, Project Advisory and Structured Finance, SBI Capital Markets Ltd.; Akshat Gautam, Senior Associate,Circulus Fund (Stride AMC), Suhas Sutar, CBO, REPLUS Engitech; Kaushal Kishor, Head, Planning and Strategy, EnerGrid; and Kumar Abhishek, Head, Sales and Marketing (North India), POM Systems and Services Pvt. Ltd. The discussion focused on battery energy storage systems, financing mechanisms, grid integration and the role of storage in enabling round-the-clock renewable energy supply.

To sum up, the summit highlighted that strengthening renewable energy adoption, domestic manufacturing and energy storage infrastructure will play a crucial role in ensuring India’s long-term energy security and sustainability goals, while also underscoring the importance of collaboration between government bodies, industry stakeholders and technology providers in accelerating the country’s transition towards a resilient and self-reliant clean energy future
