Waaree Transpower unveiled its latest innovation- the next-generation Inverter Duty Transformers (IDTs)- at the Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2025, reinforcing its leadership in powering India’s clean energy future through advanced electrical infrastructure.

Engineered for superior performance, reliability, and grid stability, the new IDTs are designed to serve a broad spectrum of users- from utility-scale solar plants and renewable developers to industrial captive units and smart grid operators-  ensuring seamless, efficient power transmission across India’s fast-evolving energy landscape.

“At Waaree Energies, we are committed to delivering state-of-the-art solutions powering India’s clean energy transition. The launch of our Inverter Duty Transformers reflects our drive to set industry benchmarks in performance, reliability, and manufacturing excellence. With advanced testing, robust design, and market-leading capacity, these transformers will accelerate efficient renewable power deployment nationwide. We remain focused on bringing the best technology to our customers and setting new standards for the industry,” said Viren Doshi, Director, Waaree.

The company’s transformer manufacturing excellence is driven by a set of core differentiators that ensure superior quality and performance. Its fully integrated production approach, supported by strong backward integration, enables unmatched quality control, precision, and on-time delivery. A dedicated IDT facility, equipped with a state-of-the-art digital testing lab, focuses exclusively on inverter-based applications, enhancing reliability and efficiency.

The world-class infrastructure features an air-pressurised, dust-free, positive-pressure workspace with epoxy flooring, designed to extend component life and ensure consistent performance. Additionally, advanced drying technology using vapour phase drying ovens provides superior insulation, durability, and operational reliability. The company’s type-tested flagship model, a 17.6 MVA, 4X660V/33 kV, five-winding aluminium-wound IDT tested at CPRI, stands as a benchmark for quality—with copper-wound variants also available to meet diverse customer needs.

Built to handle inverter switching frequencies and harmonic distortion, IDTs provide exceptional voltage step-up capability, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient power evacuation from solar fields to the grid- a crucial enabler for India’s renewable energy expansion.
