Welspun New Energy, Kandla Port Ink MoU to Develop Green Methanol Infrastructure
Welspun New Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla, to develop green methanol infrastructure that will support India’s maritime decarbonisation and green shipping initiatives.

Kandla Port to Commence Green Hydrogen Production by July 2025
Kandla port is set to become India’s first to host an operational green hydrogen plant using indigenous electrolysers manufactured by L&T, with a 1 MW facility at Deendayal Port Authority which will be operational by July 2025. It is expected to produce 18 kg of hydrogen per hour.
