Tata Power and Druk Green Power Partner for 1,125 MW Hydropower Project in Bhutan

Tata Power has inked commercial agreements with Bhutan’s Druk Green Power Corporation to jointly develop the 1,125 MW Dorjilung hydropower project. Tata Power will hold 40 percent stake in the SPV and will infuse INR 1,572 crore, in tranches. The project, built at an estimated cost of INR 13,100 crore is expected to be commissioned by September 2031.

Adani Power and Druk Green Power to set up 570MW hydro power project in Bhutan

The Wangchhu is the first hydroelectric project to be taken up under an MoU that was signed in May 2025 between the Adani Group and DGPC for jointly developing 5,000 MW of hydropower in Bhutan. Adani Group and DGPC are engaged in further discussions for future projects under this partnership.

Tata Power has partnered with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation to develop 5,000 MW of clean energy, including 4500 MW of hydropower and 500 MW of solar power supporting Bhutan's vision to expand its energy capacity to 25,000 MW by 2040.
