MNRE Extends ALMM to Solar Wafers and Ingots, to be Effective from June 1, 2028
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has expanded its ALMM framework to include ingots and wafers under a new List-III, mandating their use from June 1, 2028. The first list will be published when at least three independent wafer manufacturers with a combined 15 GW capacity are enlisted, and the cut-off date will be 7 days post the initial list issuance

ALMM Update: MNRE Adds 9,307 MW Solar Module Capacity
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has updated the ALMM List-I, adding 9,307 MW of solar module capacity, taking the total enlisted capacity to 109,539 MW. Avaada Electro, Future Solar, Emvee Group, Cosmic PV Power and Kosol Energie have increased ALMM-enlisted capacities.

MNRE Proposes to Extend ALMM to Solar Wafers from June 1, 2028
MNRE has issued a draft amendment to extend the ALMM framework to solar wafers from June 1, 2028, aiming to strengthen India’s domestic ingot-to-module value chain and cut import dependence. Stakeholders can submit comments and suggestions by October 11, 2025.
