NEWS JinkoSolar Launches 2020 Flagship Tiger Pro Series with Module Output of Up to 580W JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. Has an- nounced the official launch of its 2020 flagship Tiger Pro module series. The Tiger Pro module series was un- veiled through a virtual product launch that was in a live broadcast around the world. The Tiger Pro module series showcases multiple solar power effi - ciency innovations across three flagship model. The module series can generate maximum power output of up to 580Wp, which are 40% higher than current mainstream products installed in utility projects. All these high energy density modules use innovative multi-wire 9BB and TR tiling ribbon technology to reach significantly improved performance with conversion efficiency up to 21.6%. In addition to their unparalleled power generation performance and outstand- ing output temperature coefficient, oth - er advantages of the Tiger Pro module series include lower power attenuation rate (at 2% for the first year) and better open-circuit voltage. By greatly reduc- ing LCOE compared to traditional mod- ules, the high-efficiency Tiger Pro mod - ule series paves the way for investors to generate higher power output. Slated to commence mass production in the third quarter of 2020, the series is expected to lead the development trend of the industry, and become a mainstream choice for utility scale projects. Kangping Chen, JinkoSolar’s Chief Ex- ecutive Officer, commented, “We’ve made an enormous leap into the high efficiency era by introducing indus - try-leading and more competitive prod- ucts. The global PV market is rapidly moving towards high-performance modules to reduce system costs and initial upfront capital investment, so it was time to consolidate our compet- itiveness by leveraging our ability to rapidly begin mass producing cut- ting-edge products. We always modify our designs based on customer feed- back and market response because designing high-efficiency products in the lab is one thing, but ramping up to mass production drives the entire industry forward together towards grid parity. With various types of modules, Tiger Pro series enables the construc- tion of more powerful and efficient solar power farms that will bring higher return on investment for projects with larger technical and efficiency requirements. It is expected to lead the next gener- ation of industry standards and drive the PV industry developing into a new chapter.” ReNew Power Wins India’s First Round-The- Clock Renewable Energy Tender ReNew Power has announced that it was declared winner of India’s first e-Reverse Auction for 400 MW RE (Re- newable Energy) Project with round the clock supply. Renew Power won the bid on a first year tariff of Rs. 2.90/kWh with a 3% annual escalation for the first 15 years of the 25-year term of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The bid- ding was conducted by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) a Central PSU under Ministry of New and Renew- able Energy (MNRE). The power generated by the project will be supplied to New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), Daman and Diu & Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The ten- der conditions require the project to be commissioned within 24 months from the signing of PPA. Under the terms of agreement ReNew Power will have to ensure that it oper- ates and maintains with 80% Capacity utilization annually and 70% PLF every month to the buying Discoms through- out the tenor of the PPA. A normal re- newable energy project in India oper- ates with the capacity utilization rate of 30-40% depending upon the choice of technology and resource availability. Speaking about the historic win, Su- mant Sinha, Chairman and Managing Director, ReNew Power, said, “The tariff rate, the need for round the clock sup- ply, 80% annual CUF and 100% power from renewable sources made this one of the most unique tenders of the Indian renewable energy sector. By winning this tender, ReNew has set a new benchmark for providing stable power through clean energy sources.” 13 energetica INDIA- May_2020
