Growatt Secures Top Position in India’s Installed Rooftop Solar Capacity Addition worth 2.2 GW 2.2 GW of solar capacity was added to the Indian rooftop sector in 2019 according to Annual India Solar Re- port Card released recently by JMK Research & Analytics. The research company has lowered its expectation of rooftop solar installation capacity in 2020 to 2GW amid the lockdown situ- ation in India due to coronavirus pan- demic. For the rooftop sector, Growatt took 18% of the market share, ranking first among India’s inverter suppliers ac- cording to the report. Earlier last year, Growatt was among the TOP 3 suppli- ers of string inverter in India according to Mercom’s India Solar Market Lea- derboard. It was also the NO.1 solar rooftop inverter supplier in India solar rooftop map released by BRIDGE TO INDIA. Growatt entered Indian market eight years ago and its growth momentum has been very strong ever since. Jakson Group to Install Biggest Solar Plant at an Investment of Rs. 300 Crores in Assam Jakson Group has announced the sign- ing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) for a 70 MW solar power plant at Amguri, Sivasagar District in Assam. The agreement signing ceremony was held at the CM Secretariat and presid- ed by the Chief Minister of Assam Sar- bananda Sonowal in the attendance of other senior government officials and dignitaries. Jakson had won the bid to develop this 70 MW grid-connected solar power plant in the state based on a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd (AP- GCL) last year. Sundeep Gupta, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Jakson Group said: “As one of India’s leading solar power developers, Jakson is proud to set up another milestone solar power plant in the state of Assam. The project will be the biggest solar power plant in Assam and contribute towards achieving In- dia’s ambitious solar energy target of 100 GW by 2022.” Atul Gupta, Assistant Vice President - IPP Business, Jakson Group said: “With this project, our solar IPP port- folio now stands at 300 MW, of which 80 MW is operational and 220 MW is under various stage of execution. We plan to scale this to 1 GW in the next 2-3 years.” In addition to the PPA, Jakson also signed a land lease and project imple- mentation support agreement with AP- DCL for the project. “With the support of APDCL, we are confident of completing this project on schedule in the next 12-14 months,” Gupta added.
