AGM - Marketing Hoymiles India MONIKA SHEKHAR Q Hoymiles has grown from a micro- inverter specialist into a broader so- lar and energy storage solutions provider. What has been the key driver behind this evolution? Monika Shekhar: The renewable energy industry is evolving rapidly, and customer expectations have evolved with it. Today, customers are looking for integrated, fu- ture-ready energy solutions. At Hoymiles, this has driven our transfor- mation from a global microinverter spe- cialist to India’s one-stop solar and stor- age solutions provider. Our portfolio now spans microinverters, string inverters, hy- brid inverters, residential and commercial energy storage systems, and utility-scale battery energy storage solutions. This evolution is powered by continuous innovation, strong R&D, and our com- mitment to helping customers maximise energy generation, improve efficiency, and build a more sustainable energy future. Our goal is to provide reliable, intelligent, and comprehensive solutions that support every stage of the clean energy journey. Q Despite their technical advantages, microinverters still represent a rela- tively small share of India’s solar market. What factors are accelerating adoption today? Monika Shekhar: India has traditionally been a price-sensitive market, but custom- ers today are becoming more aware of the importance of safety, higher energy gen- eration, module-level monitoring, design flexibility, and long-term system reliabil - ity – all areas where microinverters offer significant advantages. The rapid growth of residential rooftop solar, smart homes, commercial rooftops with complex lay- outs, and increasing awareness about system performance are further driving adoption. As solar becomes a long-term investment for consumers, they are increasingly eval- uating the total lifetime value of a system rather than just the initial cost. We be- lieve this shift will continue to accelerate the adoption of microinverter technology across India. Q At StorageNext 2026, Hoymiles show- cased a comprehensive utility-scale storage portfolio. What was the rationale behind this strategic expansion? Monika Shekhar: StorageNext 2026 was the ideal platform to demonstrate Hoy- miles’ vision for the future of clean en- ergy. As renewable energy deployment accelerates, energy storage has become es- sential for balancing supply and demand, strengthening the grid, and enabling greater renewable integration. Our utility-scale storage portfolio, in- cluding DC containers, AC containers, and advanced Power Conversion Systems (PCS), has been developed around three core principles: Scale, Stability, and Sus- tainability. Scale to support growing utility and com- mercial energy requirements, Stability to improve grid reliability and energy resil- ience, and Sustainability to accelerate the transition towards a cleaner, low-carbon energy ecosystem. This expansion reflects Hoymiles’ com - mitment to delivering end-to-end energy solutions and reinforces our position as a technology partner supporting India’s rapidly growing renewable energy and en- ergy storage market. Q India is increasingly emphasising domestic manufacturing. How is Hoymiles approaching localisation, sup- ply-chain resilience, and local partner- ships? Monika Shekhar: India is one of the world’s most strategic renewable ener- gy markets, and localisation is becom- ing increasingly important for long-term growth. At Hoymiles, we see localisation as much more than manufacturing; it is about building a strong and sustainable ecosystem. We are actively strengthening our part- nerships with distributors in each region, installers, and technology partners across the country while continuously expand- ing our service and support network. Our focus is on building a resilient supply chain, providing faster customer support, and creating long-term value for our part- ners. We believe that strong local collab- oration, backed by global innovation and expertise, is the key to supporting India’s ambitious renewable energy goals. O ur focus is on building a resilient supply chain, provid- ing faster customer support, and creating long-term value for our partners, said Monika Shekhar – Assistant General Manager, Marketing, Hoymiles India, in an inter- view with Energetica India. 28 energetica INDIA- Jul-Aug_2026 INTERVIEW
