MNRE Extends ALMM List II Exemption for Net Metering, Open Access Projects till Dec. 2026 MNRE has extended the exemption from the ALMM List II requirements for solar PV cells for net metering and open access renewable energy projects until December 31, 2026, while reiter- ating that there will be no blanket ex- tension of ALMM List II for the wider solar sector. The decision, issued through Office Memorandum allows eligible net meter- ing and open access renewable energy projects to be commissioned without complying with ALMM List II for solar PV cells until the end of this year. The ministry clarified that projects commis - sioned after December 31, 2026, will be required to source solar PV modules from ALMM List I and solar PV cells from ALMM List II. The latest directive supersedes five ear - lier office memorandums issued on May 25, 2026, June 8, 2026 (two separate office memorandums), June 15, 2026, and June 23, 2026, which had dealt with the implementation of ALMM List II. The ministry said references to these superseded office memorandums in oth - er ALMM related notifications will be deemed amended in accordance with the latest decision. Recalling the regulatory framework, MNRE noted that its Office Memoran - dum dated December 9, 2024, reiterated through another memorandum issued on July 28, 2025, had mandated that all net metering and open access renewable energy projects commissioned on or af- ter June 1, 2026, must procure solar PV modules from ALMM List I and solar PV cells from ALMM List II. Subsequently, through an Office Memo - randum dated May 25, 2026, the min- istry had stated that there would be no blanket extension of ALMM List II beyond June 1, 2026, while protecting investments already made. enPossibilities Launches enPrimo Solar Inverters, Energy Storage Solutions Across India enPossibilities has launched its enPri- mo range of solar inverters and energy storage solutions through a series of product launch events in Jaipur, Pune and Bengaluru, as the company seeks to expand its presence in India’s fast-grow- ing renewable energy market while sup- porting the country’s ‘Make in India’ vision for self-reliant clean energy man- ufacturing. The company said the enPrimo prod- ucts are being positioned as locally man- ufactured renewable energy solutions under the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, reflecting its vision of delivering high-quality, indigenous clean energy technologies that combine advanced engineering, operational effi - ciency and energy storage capabilities to accelerate India’s energy transition. The launch events brought together customers, EPC companies, channel partners and solar industry profession- als. The programme included technical sessions, live product demonstrations and discussions on the products’ perfor- mance and applications. As part of its manufacturing expansion, enPossibilities said it is setting up an en- ergy storage solutions manufacturing facility in Jhajjar, Haryana. The plant, currently under construction, will have an initial annual production capacity of 2.5 GW, with scope for future expansion. The investment is aimed at strengthen- ing domestic manufacturing capabili- ties and addressing growing demand for energy storage solutions in India and overseas, in line with the company’s long-term vision of building a globally competitive, India-based renewable en- ergy manufacturing ecosystem. India has been rapidly expanding its re- newable energy capacity while encour- aging domestic manufacturing of solar equipment and energy storage technol- ogies to reduce dependence on imports and support its clean energy transition.
