UP CM Yogi Adityanath Felicitates IB Solar MD SK Mahajan for Contribution to Solar Manufacturing Sector Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Ad- ityanath has felicitated SK Mahajan, Managing Director of IB Solar, in Luc- know for the company’s contribution towards strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s solar manufacturing sector and for its upcoming advanced manufacturing fa- cility aimed at creating an integrated solar ecosystem in the state. According to the company, it is a proud and inspiring moment for IB Solar, and reflects its continuous commitment to - wards supporting India’s clean energy transition and building a strong do- mestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. The company said that it remains com- mitted to the growth of solar energy in Uttar Pradesh and across India as it continues to expand its manufacturing footprint. As part of its long-term growth vision, IB Solar is working towards strong backward and forward integration by expanding into key areas of the so- lar value chain, including solar cells, high-efficiency solar PV modules, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The company’s upcoming ad- vanced manufacturing facility is ex- pected to play a crucial role in reduc- ing dependence on imports, enhancing supply chain efficiency, ensuring better quality control, and strengthening In- dia’s self-reliance in renewable energy manufacturing. Recently, IB Solar secured a Letter of Intent from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) for the allotment of 25 acres of land for a proposed 2 GW solar cell and 1 GW module manufacturing facil- ity near the Noida International Air- port. IB Solar currently operates a 1.8 GW solar manufacturing facility in Noi- da and is further expanding its capacity with a 5 GW fully automated solar mod- ule production line by the year-end. The company said that the expansion would strengthen its backward and forward integration capabilities and support In- dia’s renewable energy manufacturing ambitions. By developing integrated manufactur- ing capabilities, IB Solar aims to create a seamless ecosystem spanning solar cell manufacturing, module production, and energy storage solutions, contrib- uting significantly towards India’s re - newable energy goals. The expansion is also expected to generate employment opportunities, boost industrial growth, and accelerate the vision of Aatmanir- bhar Bharat. SLR Solar Inaugurates 800 MW TOPCon Solar Module Manufacturing Facility in Rajasthan SLR Solar has recently inaugurated its 800 MW fully automated Al-driven so- lar PV module manufacturing facility in Kishangarh, Rajasthan. “This milestone represents months of planning, engineering, infrastructure development, process validation, and building systems designed for long-term manufacturing consistency. At the core of this facility is a simple belief: solar manufacturing should be built around sustainability, longevity, and reliability from the very beginning, not added lat- er as messaging,” stated the company. The plant will manufacture next-gen- eration TOPCon glass-to-glass solar modules using fully automated, Al-inte- grated systems. The company will offer a 30-year linear power output warran- ty and a 12-year warranty on materi- als and technology, ensuring long-term performance and reliability, the com- pany told Energetica India. “For us, this facility was about building a man- ufacturing environment where quality is monitored closely, processes remain disciplined, and products are designed to perform reliably in Indian operating conditions over years of use,” asserted the company. SLR Solar further emphasised that, alongside rapid growth, the industry is experiencing, the industry also needs stronger manufacturing ecosystems, de- pendable supply chains, and products that can sustain performance over the long run. The company’s future expan- sion plans include scaling up to 3 GW production capacity and backward inte- gration for EVA sheet and junction box (JB) manufacturing. energetica INDIA- May-June_2026 16 ENERGY UPDATES
