RenewSys Gets MNRE ALMM Approval for Bifacial N-Type TOPCon Solar PV Cells RenewSys India, an integrated manu- facturer of Solar PV Modules and key components, has announced that its bi- facial N-Type TOPCon Solar PV Cells have been included in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manu- facturers (ALMM) List-II for Solar PV Cells. The approval covers RenewSys’s manu- facturing facility in Hyderabad, with an enlisted annual production capacity of 452 MW. The approved solar cells incorporate ad- vanced bifacial N-Type TOPCon tech- nology and feature a 182.2 mm x 183.75 mm wafer format with a 16 busbar con- figuration and PID-free architecture. The cells deliver efficiencies ranging from 24.0 percent to 25.6 percent, with power output between 8.03 W and 8.54 W per cell. The enlistment remains valid until April 29, 2030. The inclusion in ALMM List-II rep- resents a significant milestone in Re - newSys’s continued expansion across the solar manufacturing value chain and further strengthens its position as a key contributor to India’s clean energy transition and manufacturing self-reli- ance initiatives. Commenting on the development, Avi- nash Hiranandani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, RenewSys India, said, “The inclusion of RenewSys So- lar PV Cells in ALMM List-II marks an important step in our journey towards strengthening India’s domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem. This achieve- ment reflects our continued focus on ad - vanced cell technologies, manufacturing excellence and our commitment to sup- porting the nation’s renewable energy ambitions with high-efficiency, Made- in-India solar products.” The implementation of ALMM List-II for Solar PV Cells is expected to acceler- ate domestic manufacturing adoption, enhance supply chain security and re- duce import dependence within India’s rapidly growing solar sector. As India continues to scale its renewable energy capacity, RenewSys remains fo- cused on expanding its integrated man- ufacturing capabilities across Solar PV Modules, Encapsulants, Backsheets, and Solar PV Cells. RenewSys is also expanding its manu- facturing roadmap with a planned addi- tional 4.5 GW G12R Solar PV Cell line, of which 2.25 GW is currently under ex- ecution, further strengthening its com- mitment to advanced domestic solar manufacturing capacity in India. PIXON Secures ALMM Approval for 2.391 GW Solar Module Manufacturing Capacity Indian solar module manufacturer PIX- ON has received approval under the government’s Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for a total capacity of 2.391 GW. The approval includes 1.646 GW of ca- pacity for high-efficiency TOPCon mod - ules, covering M10R and G12R formats, and 745 MW for Mono PERC modules, the company said in a statement. PIXON, which recently scaled its man- ufacturing capacity to 1.6 GW, said the latest inclusion in the ALMM strength- ens its position as India pushes for greater domestic solar manufacturing and reduced reliance on imports. “Re- ceiving ALMM approval for 2.391 GW is a significant milestone for PIXON. It reflects our commitment to manu - facturing excellence, technology ad- vancement, and India’s clean energy mission,” said PIXON’s CEO Rajendra Kankal. India’s ALMM framework, governed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, mandates the use of approved domestic manufacturers and models in government-backed solar projects, aim- ing to boost local production and ensure quality standards. The addition of TOPCon capacity sig- nals PIXON’s shift toward next-gen- eration solar technologies, which offer higher efficiency compared to conven - tional modules. energetica INDIA- May-June_2026 10 ENERGY UPDATES
