Country Manager GoodWe India ANIKET SAWANT Q GoodWe recently completed 10 years in India and crossed 6 GW in inverter shipments. What have been the key drivers behind this growth? Aniket Sawant: India has been a strategic market for GoodWe, and our growth journey has been anchored on three pillars: product reliability, availability as per demand, and strong partnerships. We have consistently delivered high-efficiency, cost-compet - itive solutions tailored for India’s dynamic grid conditions. At the same time, our localised service network and technical support have ensured high system uptime – critical for cus- tomer confidence. Equally important has been our collaboration with EPCs, de- velopers, and distribution partners, enabling us to scale rapid- ly while adapting to evolving policy and market needs. Q Which segments are currently driving your India business, and how do you see this evolving? Aniket Sawant: The residential and C&I segment currently leads our India business, followed by utility-scale projects. Looking ahead, we see residential growth accelerating on the back of supportive government schemes and rising power tariffs. C&I will remain robust, driven by cost optimisation and sustainability goals, while utility-scale demand will in- creasingly shift toward hybrid and storage-linked projects. Overall, the market is clearly moving toward integrated PV + storage solutions. Q How are your latest C&I inverter solutions designed for high performance in challenging environments? Aniket Sawant: Our C&I solutions are engineered for perfor- mance, durability, and intelligence. They feature higher DC/ AC ratios, advanced MPPT tracking, and robust thermal management to maximise energy yield even under extreme temperatures. With IP66 protection and anti-corrosion de- sign, they are well-suited for harsh industrial conditions. In addition, smart monitoring and remote diagnostics sig- nificantly reduce downtime, ensuring operational reliability across diverse installation environments. Q What is driving the adoption of PV + storage among C&I users in regions like MENA? Aniket Sawant: The shift toward PV + storage is primarily driven by high electricity costs, peak demand charges, and the need for energy reliability. In markets like MENA, storage is increasingly being used for diesel replacement, peak shaving, and energy security, making it a compelling economic propo- sition. This trend is expected to replicate in other emerging markets, including India. Q What challenges remain in scaling storage adoption across developing markets? Aniket Sawant: The key barriers include high upfront costs, limited financing options, and evolving regulatory frame - works. Additionally, there is still a need for greater techni- cal awareness and ecosystem readiness. However, with falling battery costs and improving policy support, we expect stor- age adoption to accelerate significantly in the coming years. Q What are your priority markets and focus areas going for- ward? Aniket Sawant: Our global focus remains on high-growth re- gions such as India, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe and Australia. From a product standpoint, we are expanding our portfolio in hybrid inverters, energy storage systems, and smart energy management solutions. Our long-term vision is to evolve from an inverter manufac- turer to a comprehensive energy solutions provider, support- ing the global transition toward clean, reliable, and decen- tralised energy systems. F rom a product standpoint, GoodWe is expanding its portfolio in hybrid inverters, energy storage systems, and smart energy management solutions, said Aniket Sawant, Country Manager, GoodWe India, in an interview with Energetica India. 28 energetica INDIA- Mar-Apr_2026 INTERVIEW
