Credence Solar Announces Groundbreaking of 2 GW Solar Cell Manufactur- ing Facility in Rajkot Gujarat-based solar panel manufactur- er Credence Solar Panels has announced that the company has broken ground for its new 2 GW solar cell manufactur- ing plant in Rajkot, Gujarat. The upcoming 2 GW cell production fa- cility, expected to commence operations by the last quarter of this year, will fo- cus primarily on next-generation G12 and G12R solar cell technologies, the company stated. “These advanced cell formats are widely recognised for enabling higher wattage solar modules, improved efficiency lev - els, and enhanced power generation, re- flecting the industry’s transition toward larger-format and high-performance photovoltaic solutions,” it said. The development comes at a crucial time as India intensifies efforts to ex - pand domestic solar manufacturing by bringing solar cells under the ambit of the Approved List of Models and Man- ufacturers (ALMM) List-II from June 1, 2026. “By moving early to establish a technologically advanced production line, Credence Solar is positioning itself to align with upcoming regulatory re- quirements while meeting the increasing demand for locally manufactured solar cells and modules,” asserted the compa- ny. A spokesperson of Credence Solar not- ed that the new facility will play a vi- tal role in strengthening the company’s manufacturing ecosystem, providing greater control over technology adop- tion, product quality, and supply chain reliability. The addition of the cell manufacturing line is expected to further reinforce the company’s strategic vision of achieving deeper vertical integration, allowing it to enhance operational efficiency while supporting the evolving needs of the so- lar market and contributing to India’s broader goal of building a self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem. Hoymiles Deploys 350 kW String Inverters in 5.5 MW PM KUSUM Solar Project in Rajasthan Hoymiles Power Electronics, a smart solar and energy storage solutions pro- vider, has announced that its HIN- V350HX-G2 (350 kW) string inverters have been deployed in a recently com- missioned 5.5 MW solar power project in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. Developed under the PM KUSUM Yojana, the project was installed by Jaipur-based EPC company Puregrid Renewables and aims to strengthen de- centralised solar generation and rural energy security, supporting farmers and local communities with reliable and sus- tainable electricity. A total of 14 Hoymiles 350 kW string inverters have been installed at the site, which were supplied by Hoymiles’ au - thorised distributor Sun Solista. The HINV350HX-G2 inverters fea- ture six 75-amp maximum power point trackers (MPPTs) and are compatible with 182 mm and 210 mm photovoltaic modules, allowing greater flexibility in system design. The inverters offer maxi- mum efficiency of 99.05 percent and EU efficiency of 98.8 percent, helping opti - mise energy output from the plant, the company stated. It further added that designed for harsh environmental conditions such as those found in Rajasthan, the systems come with IP66 protection, C5 anti-corro- sion capability and a short-circuit ratio (SCR) of ≥1.1 to ensure stable and dura - ble performance. The project also integrates broadband powerline communication and reactive power control, enabling fast response to grid signals, an important requirement in regions with high solar penetration and challenging climate conditions. Monitoring and performance optimi- sation are supported through S-Miles Cloud, which provides real-time visi- bility into system generation and oper- ational data to maximise energy yield and maintain system reliability, stated Hoymiles. energetica INDIA- Mar-Apr_2026 14 ENERGY UPDATES
