Eastman Commissions 800 MW Solar PV Manufacturing Facility in Sonipat Eastman Auto & Power Ltd. has oper- ationalised an 800 MW solar PV panel and module manufacturing facility in Sonipat, strengthening India’s domes- tic solar manufacturing capabilities and supporting the government’s push for self-reliance in renewable energy. The new facility marks a significant milestone in Eastman’s solar manufac- turing journey and positions the com- pany as a backward-integrated solar solutions provider, offering capabilities across solar PV panels and modules, grid-tie, off-grid and hybrid inverters, as well as advanced energy storage bat- teries. With a focus on solar-plus-storage sys- tems, the company aims to deliver in- tegrated energy solutions combining solar generation with energy storage, enabling reliable and clean power access. The solutions are designed to support residential, commercial and industrial customers with turnkey solar instal- lations. Eastman’s India-made solar solutions include Domestic Content Re- quirement (DCR)-compliant products, helping simplify regulatory compliance while ensuring compatibility across sys- tem components, reducing installation costs and improving after-sales service reliability. Commenting on the development, Shek- har Singal, Managing Director of East- man Auto & Power Ltd., said that the company is focused on building a strong domestic solar manufacturing ecosys- tem aligned with the Make in India ini- tiative. The company also emphasised its ‘Made in India’ manufacturing strategy, prior- itising local sourcing to reduce depen- dence on imported solar components. Solar panels and modules produced at the Sonipat facility comply with Do- mestic Content Requirement norms and standards of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, enabling eligibility for government-supported solar pro- grammes. Through expanded domestic manufac- turing and integrated solar-plus-storage solutions, Eastman aims to contribute to the growth of India’s clean energy sector and the country’s long-term sus- tainability goals. KP Energy Secures 91.4 MWWind-Solar Hybrid Project from JK Paper in Gujarat KP Energy, a part of KP Group, has announced that the company has re- ceived a letter of award (LOA) from JK Paper for the development of a 91.4 MW wind-solar hybrid power project in Gujarat. The project is being executed on a com- plete turnkey basis, encompassing end- to-end activities including engineering, procurement, installation, and commis- sioning, the company stated in a regula- tory filing. It also includes the development of evacuation infrastructure, enabling grid connectivity, obtaining all necessary statutory and regulatory clearances, and providing operation and mainte- nance (O&M) services for the Balance of Plant (BoP) of the wind capacity and the complete installed capacity of the solar project, the company stated. “The said award reflects the Company’s established execution capabilities in de- livering integrated wind-solar hybrid projects and further strengthens its po- sitioning in the renewable energy space, with enhanced execution visibility go- ing forward,” the company said. In February 2026, KP Energy received a Letter of Award from Solar Ener- gy Corporation of India for a 100 MW ISTS-connected wind power project under Tranche XIX at a tariff of INR 3.67/kWh. As of December 2025, KP Energy’s project pipeline stood at over 2.18 GW, taking the company’s total renewable portfolio to more than 3.29 GW. The company has installed over 1.11 GW of renewable capacity to date, including projects connected through both state and central transmission networks. Its O&M portfolio crossed 644 MW, while its own operational IPP assets stood at 48.5 MW. KP Group has set a target of over 10 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. energetica INDIA- Mar-Apr_2026 12 ENERGY UPDATES
