Local Manufacturing, Global Standards: ARMATEC-FTS India Strengthens India’s Biogas Ecosystem
With India scaling up its bio-CNG and waste-to-energy targets, ARMATEC-FTS India aims to leverage its local manufacturing base, technology partnerships, and field experience to become a preferred long-term partner for high-performance biogas plants across the subcontinent.

ARMATEC-FTS India has grown rapidly over the past few years, evolving from a niche technology supplier into a key enabler of India’s biogas and bio-CNG expansion.
Strengthening Footprint in the Indian Biogas Market
ARMATEC-FTS India has established itself as a specialist in high-performance agitators and pumps tailored to Indian biogas conditions, with a clear focus on efficiency, durability, and low operating cost.
The company views India as one of the fastest-growing biogas markets globally and has positioned its local team, service network, and application engineering capabilities to support projects from concept to long-term operations.
Driving Growth Through Advanced Technology
To address chronic challenges in biogas plants such as poor mixing, foaming, sedimentation, and high power consumption, ARMATEC-FTS India has launched next-generation agitators such as the EVO series, designed for demanding feedstocks and larger digesters.
Pilot plants using these upgraded mixers have demonstrated up to around 20 percent higher biogas yield and roughly 35 percent lower mixing energy consumption within months, directly improving plant profitability and bankability.
Scaling Up with Local Manufacturing Capabilities
India is increasingly being positioned as a hub for the Asia and Middle East markets.
A major milestone in ARMATEC-FTS India’s growth journey is the inauguration of a new assembling unit in Hyderabad, created to meet surging demand without compromising German engineering quality.
This facility increases production capacity toward three hundred agitators annually for the Indian and regional markets, while localising manufacturing to reduce lead times, logistics costs, and import dependence. The company is also set to start FUSION (paddle agitator) manufacturing in Hyderabad in the coming months.
Building Strategic Partnerships Across the Ecosystem
Strategic collaborations, such as the tie-up with Awite Bioenergie for advanced gas-analysis systems, have allowed ARMATEC-FTS India to move from being a component supplier to a more holistic biogas technology partner.
Through participation in events like the Renewable Energy India Expo and industry interviews, the company actively engages with EPCs, developers, and policy stakeholders, strengthening its role in India’s waste-to-energy and circular-economy ecosystem.
Future-Ready Vision for Sustainable Growth
Management emphasises continued investment in R&D, especially for energy-efficient, low-maintenance mixers and pumps adapted to diverse wastes such as agricultural residues, press-mud, and municipal organics.
With India scaling up its bio-CNG and waste-to-energy targets, ARMATEC-FTS India aims to leverage its local manufacturing base, technology partnerships, and field experience to become a preferred long-term partner for high-performance biogas plants across the subcontinent.
