Also lot of renewable energy businesses are supported by various government driven incentives and policies. Therefore, your startups have to keep itself fully aware of all such incentives and get involved in the policy making. As a technical founder you may find this a waste of time, but these are essential to your business. AI can help reduce this burden. However, at some point the incentives go away so you must be ready to scale and get your costs under control to still keep your business financially viable and offer decent ROI to your customers.

In most situation these products are deployed over large geographical areas that may have connectivity issues. It is therefore important to build as much intelligence on the edge into the devices as possible to reduce dependence on the cloud.
