Background:
Mr Anil Munjal leads Riello Power India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Italy-based RPS S.p.A, a world leader in UPS systems with manufacturing facilities in Legnago and Cormano in Italy and Manesar (Haryana) in India. He has been working in Power Solutions industry since 1997. Today, he has an industry experience of over 3 decades.
Work experience:
Mr Anil Munjal has been working into Power Protection industry for over 30 years. He has been instrumental in Riel[1]lo’s growth in India. He’s an environment enthusiast and committed to a wider goal of sustainable development. His vision is to build a better tomorrow for our coming generations by promoting innovative, clean and efficient energy solutions that enable a greener world.
Company Journey:
Riello had been in India since 1998 under the PAN-India distributorship model with an Indian partner. During an early phase, Riello penetrated the domestic Indian market by collaborating with its Indian partner to mark a base in the Indian UPS market. In 2010, Riello India was launched under a strategic joint venture. The Indian-Italian collaboration made the beginning of supplying European UPS to domestic Indian market. And the manufacturing facility was set up in 2013 at Manesar.
Over years, Riello India has grown leaps and bounds and it was in the year 2016 when Riello India became a fully owned subsidiary of Riello S.p.A, Italy. Following continued growth and enormous demand, Riello India shifted to a bigger capacity manufacturing facility and today produces the complete range of online UPS from 6kVA – 6400kVA from the same facility.
With our continuous thrust for growth and our commitment towards excellence in the field of uninterrupted power supply, we have been devising smart growth strategies and competently implementing them. We have a vertical focus approach in our business, which helps us address the changing needs of rapidly-evolving sectors such as IT/ ITES, telecom, retail, government, education, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, defence and so on. We are one of the most recognised and renowned player in the three phase online UPS systems and we plan to further strengthen our foot[1]hold. Rising adoption of cloud computing services and soaring need for uninterrupted power to ensure efficient operations in banks, financial institutions, and businesses are also anticipated to propel the data centre uninterruptible power supply market. The rising adoption of modular data centre UPS systems will create a big market opportunity for us too.

As per a report from Research on Global Markets, the Indian UPS market is expected to reach 99.83 billion in 2023, growing at a CAGR of 11.97 per cent. Growing investments in IT and the rapid development of the IT sector have significantly contributed to the growth of the UPS system market. Increasing awareness about the need to protect important data is benefiting the market. The major driver is the IT sector, followed by the IT enabled services and industries, including telecom, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), and manufacturing.
There is a huge potential waiting to be tapped. Also the market is a growing and competitive one, where both multinational and Indian suppliers are jostling for space.
