CNG (CBG), Green Diesel Production Can Boost Rural Economy

Adequate production of CNG (CBG) and Green Diesel and its use will reduce our consumption of imported fossil fuels that make us less vulnerable to the adverse impacts of supply disruptions. Reducing our demand for petroleum coupled with proportionate boost in CBG/Green diesel production could also reduce its price, generating economic benefits for Indian consumers.

As our average energy consumption is increasing, India is moving towards a more robust energy-consuming country but we are hugely dependent on imports for our energy requirement. There is a burning need to cut dependency on traditional energy resources and focusing on new forms of energy production along with boosting employment.

With the aim to replace fossil fuels with biofuels and increase the income of rural India it is very important to innovate the affordable means of green energy while boosting the rural economy and increasing the earnings of the people. In India, we can produce CNG (CBG) and Green Diesel easily which could lead to lower fossil fuel imports. Adequate production of CNG (CBG) and Green Diesel and use reduces our consumption of imported fossil fuels that make us less vulnerable to the adverse impacts of supply disruptions. Reducing our demand for petroleum could also reduce its price, generating economic benefits for Indian consumers.

Production of CNG (CBG) and Green Diesel and its use can result in increasing farmer income too, through its crop waste. The Government of India has made the policy to encourage the setting up of supply chain mechanisms for CBG and biodiesel production through the National Policy on Biofuels in 2018.

Launched in October 2018 by the Government of India The Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation (SATAT) scheme aims to establish an ecosystem for the production of compressed biogas (CBG) from various waste biomass sources in the country. The government has targeted to 15 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) Under SATAT through more than 5000 CBG plants. As per the government of India estimate it has a potential for investment of about Rs 1.75 lakh crore that will create direct employment of 1 lakh people.

CNG (CBG), Green Diesel production provides a highly profitable business opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs. From producer to marketer of green fuel people can make good profits in this business along with serving the nation and protecting the country from pollution. The government has given many subsidies to promote green fuel production like CBG Production projects, Capital subsidy, Income tax benefit etc. Entrepreneurs and business aspirants those who want to make good earning along with environment protection has a great opportunity to become a part of green fuel production and distribution. It is a low investment zero risk business. Entrepreneurs not only make money for themselves but they increase the income of rural India as well.
