We, at Alishan, are constantly trying to innovate in the field of solar materials, dedicated to making solar power more efficient and durable. Our journey is guided by a simple belief: solar power should be more efficient, more durable, and more accessible for everyone. With this vision, we have introduced a new generation of encapsulant technologies – Alishan Low Acid EVA, Alishan EPE-NT, and Alishan EPE-DC – designed specifically for the evolving needs of next-generation solar cells like TOPCon and HJT.
Leading with Purpose
At Alishan, we recognise that the solar industry in India is at a pivotal moment. As demand for clean energy grows in India, so does the need for materials that can keep pace with technological advances. Our company is dedicated to bridging this gap, blending deep industry knowledge with a hands-on approach to research and development. Every product we launch is the result of our dedication and commitment towards our customers.
Alishan Low Acid EVA
One of the primary challenges in solar module longevity is the degradation of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) encapsulants, which can lead to acetic acid formation which results in yellowing of encapsulants inside the Solar module. On the other hand, this acid corrodes metallic components, resulting in power loss and reduced module lifespan. Studies have shown that EVA-encapsulated TOPCon modules can suffer significant power losses under damp-heat conditions due to acetic acid-induced corrosion. Alishan's Low Acid EVA encapsulant addresses this issue by minimising moisture ingress and acid generation. This creates a stable environment, particularly beneficial for sensitive cells like TOPCon and HJT, ensuring consistent performance even under harsh conditions.
Alishan EPE-NT
Modern solar modules must also survive harsh outdoor conditions apart from providing efficiency. Alishan EPE-NT encapsulant is designed exactly for this purpose. It combines the ease of EVA processing with the superior durability and electrical safety of POE, providing strong protection against damage from UV rays and moisture.
Like other EPE encapsulants, EPE-NT blends the benefits of EVA and POE materials. The "NT" in EPE-NT indicates a special formulation developed specifically for n-type solar cells, which are more vulnerable to moisture than traditional p-type cells.
This encapsulant is ideal for TOPCon modules, helping them consistently operate at their highest efficiency and ensuring long-term reliability.

Alishan EPE-DC: Harnessing the Power of Light
Alishan EPE-DC encapsulant introduces UV down-conversion (UV-DC) technology, enhancing both the protection and efficiency of solar modules. This innovative approach not only shields solar cells from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation but also converts that UV light into wavelengths more effectively utilised by the cells, thereby boosting power output.
Traditional encapsulants often employ UV cut-off agents to block UV radiation, which can inadvertently reduce the overall light available for energy conversion. In contrast, UV-DC technology leverages specialised materials that absorb UV photons and re-emit them as visible light, particularly in the blue spectrum, which is more efficiently harnessed by photovoltaic cells. This dual function enhances module performance while providing robust protection against UV-induced degradation.
