Product Profile > Bosch Power Tec three-phase string inverter 12 kVA, 13 kVA, 14 kVA, 18 kVA and 20 kVA

In order to be able to serve the globally rising requirement for inverters for small-scale systems, Bosch will offer single-phase string inverters in four power classes. The transformerless devices are optimal for small PV systems in which the increase of self-consumption plays a major role. Due to the high type of protection the BPT-S is also suitable for use in adverse weather conditions. The smallest members of the Bosch Power Tec portfolio will be available in power classes 3 kVA, 3.68 kVA, 4 kVA and 4.6 kVA. Both versions with higher power are equipped with 2 MPP trackers.

For larger systems, Bosch Power Tec will offer a three-phase string inverter in power classes 12 kVA, 13 kVA, 14 kVA, 18 kVA and 20 kVA. Along with the features outlined above, these devices have three MPP trackers, except for the 18 and 20 kVA versions which have four. The three-phase string inverters will be gradually introduced to the market in 2015.

All devices of the BPT-S series include a datalogger which forms the basis for a detailed analysis of all performance data of the system. The integrated data logger function records all data and makes it available in graphical form in the e.Web monitoring portal. Additionally, visualization is possible on smartphones with the e.UserApp. Along with the display of performance data, individual parameters are also available via the internet. The set-up tool e.Data, which is also integrated, helps to avoid service calls or to plan them more precisely in advance.

World first – gesture control
A further world first in the area of solar inverters is a touchless sensor for navigating the menu. If the operator or technician approaches the device, the operation menu automatically switches on. The operation menu can be scrolled through or set with gesture control; additional operating elements, such as switches or buttons, are therefore omitted and the user can easily interact with the device even under severe weather conditions, e.g. in the winter whilst wearing gloves. This new innovative type of operation, which is currently also being introduced as an innovation in other consumer goods, is characterized by its particular robustness and therefore service life, as no electromechanical elements have to be used.

The LED concept, which not only delivers at a glance information on the respective operating status, but, in the case of a fault, also immediately localizes to the affected area of the solar system.

Ready for use in seconds with e.Key
Along with one or two Ethernet interfaces, all inverters also have an RFID communication interface. This allows the connection standards, required by the EVU, and the respective country language to be set in seconds and touchlessly. This information is saved on the so-called e.Key, which is made available to the installer. This means that, using this innovative and patented concept, every Bosch Power Tec inverter can be configured according to its basic settings within seconds by it. The cumbersome opening of the device with settings, e.g. via dip switch, or the time-consuming scrolling through a menu structures is a thing of the past.
