Raychem RPG expands into the fast growing Renewable Energy business

Raychem RPG, a 50:50 Joint Venture between TE Connectivity, U.S.A. (formerly Tyco Electronics) and RPG Enterprises, India, continues to expand it’s offering in the fast growing renewable energy business with the addition of solar inverters (up to 750kW) and string combiner boxes for commercial and utility scale applications in technical collaboration with Fimer SPA of Italy.

Commenting during the launch, Mr. Ramani Kasi, President - Raychem RPG said "The solar inverter business gives Raychem RPG the unique advantage to be an end-to-end solutions player in the energy business with a strong presence in the fast growing green energy space. Some of the global organizations that have benefitted from the FIMER technology are Enel Green Power, MX Group SpA, Datagi Energia srl amongst others and our installed base exceeds 500 MW in varying geographical and grid conditions."

The market for solar inverters is estimated at INR 550+Cr. growing at fast pace as grid connected solar installations growin India. In the coming years the market is expected to grow much faster on the back of government initiatives in setting up more solar projects. Raychem RPG will cater to the vast demand from end customers in solar project development and also cater to the demand from EPC players.

Raychem RPGs inverters have the following technology advantage that sets it apart from other players in the market.

1.     Advanced Modularity exists at the inverter and component level

a.     High redundancy and protection against energy loss

b.     Long product life due to full electronic control

2.     High availability from independent power modules due to service simplicity as semi-skilled labor on site can replace power module

3.     Higher generation due to wider MPPT window, leading to longer working time for inverter (early start and late sleep)

4.     Operates in higher efficiency zone for longer period of time as compared to other inverters

Raychem RPGs solar inverters will be assembled at the state-of-the-art plant in Chakan, near Pune. Over the next few years, as increase in localization takes place, the solar inverter facility is expected to provide additional employment to people directly and indirectly, in addition to the 400+ people that the Chakan plant employs presently
