Mr Ravi Pandit lauds Praj’s efforts in Institutionalizing Sustainable Practices.

Sustainability is reflected in Praj’s focus industry verticals, its social responsibility initiatives and its everyday conduct. Praj Green Supply Chain Initiative is a flagship program wherein sustainable practices are institutionalized among the supplier partners. This program has received recognition from renowned national level industry forums.

ACCORD 2017 - SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT, a thought leadership forum held at Yashada, Pune on 22nd Dec 2017, Friday was an event to commemorate the achievement. The event was graced with the presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Ravi Pandit, Chairman & Group CEO of KPIT and Guest of Honor Mr. Pankaj Srivastava Director of British Standards Institution (BSI).

Praj Green Supply Chain Initiative is a tripartite arrangement between Praj, its suppliers and BSI, a UK based global major. Started in 2015, it is a pioneering concept in the Indian bioprocessing industry. Aimed at institutionalizing global best practices in the Indian manufacturing environment, Praj partnered with BSI for systematic and transparent implementation. This program includes over 200 suppliers of Praj, including MSME partners.

In addition to complimenting Government of India’s flagship programs such as Make in India, Swachh Bharat, Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED), Praj Green Procurement Initiative also contributes to combating evils of climate change and global warming and fulfill India’s commitment to COP 21 UN Climate Change Conference.

Speaking at the Event, Mr.Pramod Chaudhari commented, “Praj has always endeavoured for sustainable practices and would like to propagate green Supply chain amongst industry. This initiative and the global perspectives deliberated during the summit will help uplift the overall quality and sustainability standards in the Indian manufacturing and engineering industry.”

Mr. Ravi Pandit, Chairman & Group CEO of KPIT exclaimed, “I appreciate Praj’s endeavours in creating a positive change in the environment by use of innovative and digital practices. They have also set an example for other organizations; especially from the SME sector.”

Accord Sustainability Summit witnessed a gathering of suppliers, industry peers, SCM professionals and entrepreneurs amongst the audience. Guest of Honour Mr.Pankaj Srivastava, Director, BSI spoke about Global Best Practices in Green Supply Chain while Chief Guest Mr. Ravi Pandit dwelled on harnessing Advancements in the Digital Technology. The gathering also had a panel discussion where Mr.Hemant Watve, MD of Wilo Mather & Platt,

Dr.Shridhar Shukla, MD of kPoint Technology and Mr.Varadharajen Lakshmanan, MD of Bray Controls (India & South East Asia) deliberated on Re-imaging Business Canvass amidst Disruptions. The discussion was moderated by Mr.Manish Kulkarni, Director at BDB India.

Praj won 3 consecutive awards in the calendar year 2017; namely Best Supply Chain Management Practices Award by Indian Institute of Material Management, 5th Procurement Excellence Awards in Best Green Procurement Initiative by Kamikaze Media and Excellence in Sustainable Supply Chain Award by World Sustainability organization for the Green Procurement Initiative.
