GreenBrilliance commissions a Solar System at Petrol Pump in Pune

Jump to the comments

GreenBrilliance, a leading manufacturer of globally certified photovoltaic solar modules based out of Gujarat, India announced successful installation and commissioning of a solar PV system on a corporate owned and operated, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) Petrol Pump station at Wellesley Road, near Pune Railway station in Pune, Maharashtra India.
IOCL, India’s largest oil company is ranked as the world’s 83rd largest public corporation by Fortune Global 500 list based on revenue. IOCL operates India’s widest and largest network of fuel stations numbering about 19,463. The system installed by Greenbrilliance in partnership with Srinergy-Sharvani is a roof-mounted system with a battery backup solution.
India, a fast paced growing economy has brought forth and highlighted the need for alternate energy sources and their reliability visa vie the traditional fossil based energy sources. A reliable energy source based on solar energy would not only save the recurring costs of conventional power and fuel expenses to
run a generator, but ensure a continued and uninterrupted power supply as well with a significant savings in costs.
“We are all looking to reduce our carbon footprints and proceed towards a greener future by reducing consumption of conventional sources of energy and utilization of fossil fuel. Vehicle owners are also slowly switching over to use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). In such a scenario, where the fuel stations disperse an environmentally clean alternative to a fossil fuel substitute, the fuel stations themselves running on green energy are an additional commitment from the company in contributing their share to keep the environment clean. We at GreenBrilliance are thankful to IOCL for installing this solar PV system. IOCL has set an example for others to emulate by taking a lead in showing its concern for saving the non-renewable sources of energy. Successful installation and working of this system will boost the confidence of others as well and motivate them to set up similar systems”, says Vineet Jain, Managing Director of GreenBrilliance.
