Gamesa had a press conference today for its new turbine G-97-2.0MW with Mr.Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director, Gamesa Wind Turbines giving details on the product and its market response. Gamesa’s G97-2.0 MW is said to be specially designed for Indian climatic conditions; with focus on areas with less wind. The company has already sold 200 machines of G97 in last 2 month with 10 of them already installed. Gamesa has installed and commissioned more than 700 Wind Turbine Generators within two years of setting up base in India with an installed base of 563 MW across states including, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh. The company also has a portfolio of more than 6000 MW in various stages of development in India & Sri Lanka & expects to achieve a production capacity of 1500 MW by 2013 from the current 800 MW. “Gamesa India looking ahead to the incredible waiting to be trapped.
