EESL signs MoU with Municipality of Tashkent to promote energy efficiency.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Municipality of Tashkent City to promote energy efficiency measures in the city. The agreement was signed at the India-Uzbekistan Business Forum in New Delhi. Under this MoU, EESL will help establish and implement energy efficiency projects in Uzbekistan, starting with the City of Tashkent.

Mr. Nozim Khusanov, Mayor of Sergeli District of Tashkent City and Mr. Jaspal Singh Aujla, Chief General Manager, EESL signed the MoU in the presence of dignitaries from both the countries.

As part of the MoU, EESL and Municipality of Tashkent City will collaborate to explore opportunities in areas of Street lights, E-vehicles, Smart meters, Energy Efficient buildings, and other developing technologies. The association will enable Municipality of Tashkent to introduce these new technologies which will go a long way in conserving energy and help consumers save money.

With the population of nearly 3 million citizens, Tashkent holds a huge potential in deployment of these technologies to bring energy efficiency and achieve energy savings. Signing the MoU, Mr. Jaspal Singh Aujla, Chief General Manager, EESL said, “The march towards a sustainable and progressive world requires synergised efforts. Enabling more international partnerships, we will promote and implement energy efficiency programs in the city of Tashkent.”

Large scale transformative solutions introduced by EESL have created a new normal for market dynamics and consumption patterns. The geography-agnostic and versatile nature of EESL’s business models have enabled it to explore business opportunities in diverse markets across the world.
