Adani Group to Invest 700 Billion in setting up Data Centre Parks in Andhra Pradesh

Adani Group has announced that it will earmark Rs 70,000 crore over the next 20 years to construct solar powered data centre parks of up to 5 GW in and around Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, thus being its single largest investment till date.

In a move that would strengthen India’s technology infrastructure and enhance the concept of green data centres, Adani group inked a MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government in the attendance of Chief Minister N Chandrababu.

The move also marks Adani group’s venture into the digital technology infrastructure sector that India is looking to step up. The striving project, considered as the first-of-its-kind 100% renewable energy powered project in the world, is projected to make Andhra in the East Coast the data centre hub for India and South East Asia creating over a lakh of direct and indirect jobs.

“From core infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh to the rollout of the defence business at Telangana, our vision is to create stellar assets across the length and breadth of the country,” Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani group.

He further said the venture into data storage business would influence the Adani group’s immense experience in full stack energy management and strong project execution, making it exclusively qualified to convey a realistic 100% renewable data centre infrastructure with world-class power usage effectiveness (PUE).
