A new 500kW power generator in a 10-foot container

HIMOINSA, a Spanish company in the power generation sector, has launched a new 500kW power generator in a 10-foot container.  Originally designed for and launched in the North American market its success motivated the HIMOINSA engineering team to work on its adaptation to be presented in the European market.

It is commercially known as the Power Cube Generator, in reference to its size and shape. The product is presented as having a high degree of adaptability, since it is easily adapted to projects with reduced space availability, where 20' containers cannot be used. In addition to this, there are other factors such as the fact that it has been certified by the International Convention for Safe Containers (CSC), allowing consignment of two units by sea, as though it were a standard 20' container.

500kW in 10 feet, with 50kW power/foot, a considerable power density which allows extreme optimisation of logistics and unit handling. The set is prepared to be synchronised and give extra power, always in ISO sizes of 20' for 1000kw, 30' for 1500kw, 40' for 2000kw, etc.

The generating set has an electric fan which allows reduction of acoustic emissions and therefore use of the unit in residential areas and events. It is often in these scenarios where high power is required, there is little space available, and low noise generation is required. In addition, self-sufficiency is ensured by rapid external fuel inlets.

Generating energy at two frequencies

Another of the leading products in the HIMOINSA rental range is the HRTW 1300 dual frequency container, ideal for use in IPP (Interim Power Plant), rental, mining, construction, quarrying and ports, among others. With the efficiency of dual frequency, the same equipment can generate both at 50 Hz and 60 Hz.

This generator was created to meet the needs of the rental and construction markets, as well as all possible heavy duty applications. For this reason, it presents great advantages in comparison with other types of products which also operate in this sector. It has a variable speed fan to reduce fuel consumption and noise emission, as well as a system for interior lighting, which ensures total accessibility for cleaning and maintenance.
