Morocco 2016 has already been a productive year for Morocco, with March seeing the award of 850MW of wind capacity across five projects — representing US$1.1b of investment — to a consortium comprising Enel Green Power, Siemens and Nareva Holding. The tender returned record low bid prices, averaging just US$30/MWh. The country has also committed to two major hybrid PV-CSP solar complexes totaling 800MW. Expressions of interest for the first 400MW Noor Midelt complex were submitted in early 2016, while Noor Tata submissions are expected to be called later this year. February marked the inauguration of the first 160MW CSP phase of the Ouarzazate Noor complex, while the next two phases representing 350MW are scheduled to come online by 2018, making it the largest CSP complex in the world. Egypt While Egypt’s current foreign currency crunch is causing some developers to put projects on hold, with central bank restrictions preventing local banks lending in dollars for projects receiving revenues in Egyptian pounds, the country’s long-term potential is continuing to pique the interest of major international players. An international consortium led by Terra Sola Group confirmed in April that it has started construction on a 2GW solar project backed by US$3.5b of German funds. Days later, EDF Énergies Nouvelles announced it had signed three new wind and solar contracts. Both follow Siemens’ US$2.6b wind development, which broke ground in January, and reinforce the Government’s appetite to sign bilateral deals for large-scale projects in addition to its centrally run tenders RENEWABLE ENERGY INDIA IInviittess you tto IIndiia’’ss Powerr and Renewablle Enerrgy Seccttorr Foccussed Diigiittall Guiide Energetica India Guide Highlights Over 31 Categories within the Power Sector Widely used for Product / Services search by Buyers Classication based on Global Markets also Takes Buyers directly to the required Product Page Seller Contact Details visible to the Buyer Promoted on Energetica India and EcoConstruction India Easy & Quick Process guide.energetica-india.net 58 energetica INDIA · MAY | JUN16 For any questions For any questions on the subject,on the subject, please please send email send email to bharat.to sonam.vasandani@r@energetica-energetica-india.net india.net
