INDIA NEWS Gamesa wins 23 MW Solar project order for commissioning in Telangana Gamesa, has announced a new solar order win of 23 MW fromNew Era Enviro Ventures for commissioning in the state of Telangana. The order entails engineering, supply of inverters, and commissioning of 5MW, 10 MW and 8 MW grid connected solar projects at Mankondur, Ellanthakunta and Bujarampet respectively. The project is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2016. This order marks Gamesa’s maiden solar venture in Telangana and its first win from New Era Enviro Ventures, a leading renewable energy player in the country. “This order closely follows our recent MW scale solar farm commissioned in TN and we are confident of more and more prospective customers trusting our capabilities in solar as much as they do in wind. The State of Telangana has been encouraging solar power in its energy mix and this order will definitely help lower dependence on conventional sources of energy. We are glad to begin 2016on a strong note for our solar business,” said Mr. Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director, Gamesa India. Commenting on the order, K.V. Sajay, Executive Vice President – Solar Business Unit, Gamesa India said, “This project takes our combined solar order in the country to 33 MW till now, an encouraging number given our nascent entry into the sector. We are grateful to our customers for trusting in our capabilities and supporting our growth in the segment. This being the first order outside our home state and the maiden one in Telangana, we are confident of winning more orders for rest of India and establish ourselves as a strong solar player in the months to come.” While Gamesa will be responsible for engineering, supply of inverters and commissioning of the 23MW project, supply of modules and structures form part of New Era Enviro Ventures scope. Commenting on the order, Mr. Mohan Reddy, Head - Projects, New Era Enviro Ventures said, “As a part of our IPP plan, it’s a beginning and we have bigger plan to unveil in coming future.” Vikram Solar brings solar energy to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata Vikram Solar has announced that it has successfully commissioned a rooftop solar plant with a total 2 MWp capacity at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport,Kolkata, West Bengal. The project of setting of grid connected solar rooftop project under Jawharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) was implemented for Airport Authority of India within the MNRE scheme. This project is VikramSolar’s 3rd such rooftop installation at an International Airport in India, after the 100 kWp installation at Cochin International Airport & the recently commissioned 750 kWp solar plant at Calicut International Airport, Kerala. Vikram Solar was responsible for the design, engineering, procurement, supply, construction, and erection and commissioning of this rooftop plant. The whole project consists of 3 separate installations of 180 kWp at the Operations Building, 572.2 kWpat the Cargo & APEDA building, and 1248 kWp at the domestic building. The project is expected to reduce approx 2036.90MT ofCO2 emissions “Kolkata airport is one of the first few airports in the country to get solarised. We are proud to showcase the biggest airport rooftop installation in the country. Vikram Solar were entrusted to execute this prestigious project and they have successfully completed it. The 2 MWp grid connected rooftop solar plant is set to create benchmark by generating 2800 Mwh of solar energy in its first year of operation. It is expected to garner monetary benefit of approx. The solar plant is equipped with Vikram Solar’s advanced Data Monitoring System. Vikram Solar has also been entrusted with overseeing the operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the plant under a 2-year contract .This is one of the biggest roof top installation in Eastern India and the biggest Roof Top installation of Airports Authority of India in the country.
